I used “Hide My Email” with Apple
If you signed in with Apple and chose Hide My Email, Bookingleaf got a
random address ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com. Apple forwards email
from that address to you. That address is the one on your account, and at
the school if you connected yourself.
Switch to your own email
- Go to the change email page.
- Sign in with Apple, as usual.
- Enter the email you want to use.
- Open the email we send to the new address, and tap the link.
You still sign in with Apple as before. If the new address already has a Bookingleaf account, the switch doesn't work. Then you have two accounts. Contact us at the bottom of the page, and we'll sort it out with you.
The school still has the old address
The switch only changes your account. The school keeps its own copy of your details, and it says the Apple address until the school changes it. Ask the school to update your email, or email and invoices from the school may go to the Apple address.
Can't see your invoices or your child's lessons?
Then it's probably not about the email. The school registered your family with your usual email, and when you connected with the Apple address, you got a new, empty registration at the school. Changing your email doesn't help once you're connected.
Ask the school to merge the two registrations. For example:
I'm registered with you twice: once with [your usual email] and once with the Apple address [the address on your account]. Could you merge them and keep the one connected to my account?
After that you see the invoices and your children's lessons in the app. The school can follow Duplicate contacts.
Sign in with email and password
You can also create a password, so you can sign in with email and password as well as Apple. Switch your email first: the password belongs to the address on your account. Then go to the create password page.
